The ICRT at Leeds Met is building a network of corresponding or "sister" organizations which are independent of the ICRT at Leeds Met which operates as the hub ICRT. The centres share a common purpose in developing and promoting the concept of Responsible Tourism, as defined in the Cape Town Declaration, through advocacy, education, training, research and consultancy. The Centres work independently of the ICRT at Leeds Met but often enter into partnerships with it to advance the cause of Responsible Tourism.
ICRT South Africa
ICRT South Africa works with the ICRT at Leeds Met to deliver CPD training in Responsible Tourism Management for academics and local government staff. Together we are developing a relationship with Limpopo University to establish a research and training programme on tourism, local economic development and poverty reduction. The ICRT South Africa has also undertaken work on Responsible Tourism for Cape Town and is developing a Responsible Tourism Award.
