Successful start for the ICRT's 2009 conference programme
By Simon Woodward
7th January, 2009

The audience also heard from two current ICRT students who shared their research findings on barriers facing tourism SMEs in the townships of Cape Town and on the opportunities for integrating tourism into the work of Transition Towns in the UK. Both of these pieces of work are currently being written up and are sure to add to the increasing body of evidence supporting the principles of responsible tourism development in emerging and established destinations.

We would like to extend an invitation to alumni and professionals working across the sector to our next two one-day events later this month.   On January 16th an international panel of speakers will discuss responsible tourism marketing, and a week later on 23rd January, another high calibre panel will be considering environmental management in the hospitality sector.

If you want more details of any of the presentations from the event on 5th January, or if you want to book a place on a forthcoming conference, please contact ICRT by emailing icrt@leedsmet.ac.uk
